Zuraida to defend Ampang seat

The PBM president also says any questions on cooperation with Barisan Nasional will be answered before nomination day on Nov 5.

Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Zuraida Kamaruddin has confirmed that she will be defending the Ampang parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).

“InsyaAllah (God willing), I will defend the seat,” the caretaker plantation industries and commodities minister said at a press conference.

The former PKR vice-president contested and won the seat on a Pakatan Harapan (PH) ticket in the 2018 general election but later joined Bersatu after being sacked from PKR in the wake of the Sheraton Move in 2020.

When asked about PBM’s application to join Barisan Nasional, Zuraida said any questions on cooperation with the coalition would be answered before nomination day on Nov 5.

Separately, Zuraida said “all the best” to PKR president and PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim who has announced that he will be contesting the Tambun parliamentary seat.

GE15 will take place on Nov 19, with nomination day on Nov 5 and early voting set for Nov 15.
