PETALING JAYA:
Commuters on the LRT Kelana Jaya line tonight have complained of being stranded for an hour after the rail service was disrupted, the third such breakdown today.

According to its operator, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, its automated system encountered problems at around 8.39pm.

This led to delays for rides between the Kelana Jaya station and the KLCC station, it said in a tweet.

One commuter tweeted that they had been “stuck in the LRT” for an hour, without an apology offered and updates provided.

Another claimed that everyone inside the train is now “using Grab as (an) alternative”, referring to the e-hailing service.

Rapid Rail had suspended services for 30 minutes in the afternoon, and offered free bus rides to shuttle commuters from Pasar Seni, Damai and Ara Damansara.

The disruption came two hours after Rapid Rail reported a technical glitch between the KLCC station and the Ampang Park station at about 11.30am.
