PETALING JAYA:
Three Thai women believed to be part of a syndicate involved in human trafficking into Malaysia have been deported and handed over to Thai police.

The three women, in their 30s, were on the Thai police wanted list. They were detained on Oct 29, together with two Indonesian men, based on information from Thai police, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said.

“We believe that the two Indonesian men were not involved in the syndicate but merely working with them here in Malaysia,” he said.

Police also rescued two Thai and two Indonesian women and placed them under an interim protection order, he said.
