Hung Parliament, another multi-coalition govt on the cards

According to unofficial results, no party has a clear majority.


PETALING JAYA: No coalition has won enough seats to form the government, meaning another multi-coalition government is on the cards.

According to the Election Commission’s website as of 2am, Pakatan Harapan and Sarawak DAP have won 66 seats while Perikatan Nasional and PAS have 62 seats.

Barisan Nasional has 28 seats, Gabungan Parti Sarawak has 22 seats while Gabungan Rakyat Sabah has six seats.

Warisan has won three seats, Muda and PBM have each claimed one while two independent candidates also won their contests.

The results of the other seats have not been made official.

The total number of seats in the Dewan Rakyat is 222. To obtain a majority, a party must get at least 112 seats.
