The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said this was in line with the BN Supreme Council’s decision yesterday.
“We have heard PH’s (Pakatan Harapan) pitch, so now, we will meet PN to hear their pitch,” the source said.
“It is understood that BN leaders will meet tonight to discuss both PH’s and PN’s proposals.”
Earlier, several BN and PN leaders, including Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob, were seen entering the hotel.
When Ismail was asked why he was there, the Umno vice-president simply said: “I don’t know yet.”
The others spotted at the hotel included BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan; Nazir Razak, the brother of former prime minister Najib Razak; and Gerakan president Dominic Lau.
Muhyiddin, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, MIC deputy president M Saravanan and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) deputy president Arthur Kurup were also expected to attend the meeting.
However, according to a report by Malaysiakini, BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will not be present.
