Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s unveiling of his Cabinet will be streamed live.
PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will unveil his Cabinet line-up this evening, the Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed. The event will be broadcast live.

This morning, Anwar met the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for nearly an hour and is believed to have submitted his proposed Cabinet line-up.

On Monday, Anwar said he would unveil the Cabinet “as soon as possible”, calling for patience given that the government he led comprised many parties.

“I must hear all (their) views before deciding. Another issue is that the Cabinet will be downsized,” Anwar said, adding that this meant that further deliberations would be required.

On Wednesday, a source told FMT there would be two deputy prime ministers within Anwar’s 25-member Cabinet. They would be from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Barisan Nasional, specifically Umno.

PKR, Umno, DAP and GPS are likely to be given the most number of ministerial posts. Warisan, Amanah and Upko are also slated to be included in the Cabinet.

Earlier today, DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng maintained that he was willing to serve the nation in any capacity, amid growing speculation that he will not be included in Anwar’s Cabinet

Lim said he had been repeatedly asked by the media on talks that he would be left out, but added that it was wholly the prime minister’s prerogative.
