Annuar’s remarks come after Azman claimed there was a movement within Umno to oust its president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the next party polls.

“Let him (Azman) worry about his own party, and let Umno handle its own affairs,” he told FMT.

In a video uploaded by Twitter user @Ibn_Hurairah, Azman claimed that Annuar, Khairy Jamaluddin and Hishammuddin Hussein were among the Umno leaders involved in such a movement.

“The Umno elections will take place in six months, and campaigns by leaders to oust Zahid are being mobilised.

“These leaders are not kleptocrats. They include Annuar, Khairy and Hishammuddin,” he said in the video.

A number of Umno leaders have called for Zahid to resign from his post following BN’s poor outing at the 15th general election (GE15).

Among those who have called for Zahid’s resignation are Khairy, Shahril Hamdan, Noh Omar and Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
