PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the coalition found the policy to be beneficial as it also acts as a check and balance on the administration of the government.
“During the time of the PH administration, we saw that the PAC was very focussed on checking various processes in the government’s administration and governance,” he told reporters after the council’s meeting today.
“However, there has been no discussion with the opposition on this yet,” he said, adding that it will be left to the PAC to probe outstanding issues which were raised in the past.
Fahmi added that the meeting, chaired by PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim, also discussed a proposal to allow the prime minister to answer questions verbally during parliamentary sessions but no decision was made.
