KUALA LUMPUR:
Eight police officers will remain in custody until Feb 7 to assist in the investigation into a murder case in Tawau, says inspector-general of police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

He said as the investigation was still ongoing, the authorities had to be measured in deciding what action should be taken against the officers.

“We hope that the information obtained will help the prosecution make a case against those involved,” he told reporters after attending an event here.

The eight officers were remanded on Jan 28 to assist in the murder investigation.
