PETALING JAYA:
Transport minister Loke Siew Fook is to hold a press briefing tomorrow on flight capacity for those travelling during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period.

Loke announced the briefing in a statement disputing a claim by former transport minister Wee Ka Siong about expensive domestic flights during the festive season.

Wee said expensive flights could no longer be justified as there are no more Covid-19 restrictions. He said he was shocked and disappointed that an economy class return ticket, from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau and back, on April 20 would cost RM3,138.

Loke said Malaysia Airlines had informed him that all economy class tickets for the route that day had been sold out and only business class tickets were available.
