PETALING JAYA:
In a move to bolster the country’s healthcare sector, the health ministry has announced the permanent appointment of 1,912 reserve candidates.

This comprehensive intake comprises 1,226 medical officers, 216 dental officers and 470 pharmacy officers.

The decision, following approval from the public services commission in September, aims to fill healthcare vacancies for 2023 to strengthen the health system.

In a statement today, the ministry said it will employ the JPA Appointment Offer System over 21 days from Oct 2.

This advanced system is designed to facilitate the smooth dissemination and acceptance of offers.

“The appointments align with the available vacancies and approved permanent positions for 2023,” it said.

The ministry said the system allows candidates autonomy to select their preferred placements, but they must act within the stipulated time frame or possibly forfeit their appointment offers.

It also said that openings in the prominent Klang Valley region are scarce even though numerous positions are available throughout Malaysia.

Consequently, couples are encouraged to explore placements beyond the Klang Valley, encompassing the peninsula’s rural areas, Sabah and Sarawak.
