
The crowd gathered at Plaza Tugu Negara here at 8am and began marching towards the Parliament building at about 8.30am.
The protesters held yellow signs with phrases such as “Don’t get comfortable” and “Clean and fair” while chanting “Tuntut Reformasi, Tolak DNAA, Rakyat Bangkit”.
The protesters are expected to hand over a memorandum at Parliament to state their demands.
Earlier this month, Bersih said it would not hesitate to organise street protests again if the government did not commit to its agenda for institutional and political reforms.
In previous posts on X, the electoral watchdog had highlighted several reforms it sought, including a limit to the prime minister’s term and the abolition of the Sedition Act.
