What’s your track record as Sabah’s works minister, Armizan asks Bung

PETALING JAYA:
A Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leader has challenged claims by Umno’s Bung Moktar Radin that leaders from the ruling coalition are “all talk, no action” when it comes to addressing the state’s ongoing electricity and water supply issues.

GRS deputy secretary-general Armizan Mohd Ali said Bung should show what he had achieved during his two-year tenure as Sabah’s works minister before pointing the finger at others.

“What did he (Bung) do? In my area, a water project that has been in the planning since 2019 didn’t proceed. It only started in August 2023 when I became the MP for Papar,” he told FMT.

However, Armizan also said that blaming others would not resolve the issues in Sabah.

“While we may point the finger at others, let’s not forget that four fingers also point back at ourselves and judge us,” he said.

“I believe our people, including those in Sabah, are wise enough to assess leaders not based solely on their words, but also by evaluating their performance.”

While Bung was free to issue statements, Armizan said what mattered the most was that GRS was committed to improving the state.

“For me, the majority of leaders in Sabah are seasoned politicians,” he said.

“Each leader will be judged based on their respective track records because they have been ministers, deputy ministers, chief ministers and MPs for decades.”

On Tuesday night, Bung said GRS leaders were “all talk, no action”, accusing them of repeatedly making announcements without resolving any of the state’s problems.
