Speaking at a dialogue session at PKR’s 25th anniversary special convention here today, Rafizi, who is also the economy minister, said  people had accused him of not being aggressive enough.

He was responding to a question by a delegate about the attacks on PKR president and prime minister Anwar Ibrahim.

“The effectiveness of a party is not measured by who shouts the loudest. When you’re in the government, there are other factors to consider,” he said.

Rafizi said party leaders had been affected by the attacks on Anwar and would do their part to defend their president.

“Our biggest task and focus is to administer and rebuild this country. In some matters, greater care is needed to avoid any potential damage to the government.

“There are also matters we need to handle in a way that they don’t go out of control. What is important is the party’s organisation, especially in terms of communications,” he said.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar thanked party members for making police reports over the accusations flung at the party’s leadership.

However, she reminded them not to be hasty in responding to such accusations.
