PETALING JAYA:
Selangor Umno Youth has filed a police report over a signage merging the Umno and DAP logos allegedly carried by Perikatan Nasional supporters during nominations for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Selangor Umno Youth secretary Shah Zanuriman Nuar Paras Khan said it was aimed at stoking ill-will or hostility, an offence under Section 4A of the Election Offences Act.

“Selangor Umno Youth urges the Election Commission to take action over this (alleged) election offence,” he said in a Facebook post.

Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh had also criticised the signage spotted on Saturday, saying PN should campaign with ideas and arguments instead of insulting their rivals.

Separately, an aide to DAP publicity secretary Teo Nie Ching lodged a police report after a video clip of her during an interview with Bernama was edited to be taken out of context.

Teo said this was done with malicious intent to defame the unity government’s candidate for this by-election, Bernama reported.
