
He said the state government plans to adopt a similar approach to the federal government in adjusting the salaries of its civil servants. Implementation would be dependent on the state’s financial capability, Bernama reported.
“We will calculate based on the announcement by the prime minister. At the very least, it will be on par, if not slightly better,” he told reporters in Kuching.
He added that the state government is also considering additional benefits and promotion opportunities for its staff as their salary schemes do not include a pension.
He hoped private sector employers in Sarawak would follow suit by offering better salaries and benefits to their employees.
