Thief takes RM3,000 from mosque donation boxes

Subang Jaya police said CCTV showed a man dressed in a blue shirt and brown trousers breaking into the boxes.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A thief broke into two donation boxes at Masjid An-Nur in USJ 4, Subang Jaya, and made off with the contents, estimated to be about RM3,000 in cash, police said.

Subang Jaya police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said in a statement that the theft was recorded on CCTV at 11.40am yesterday.

He said a man dressed in a blue shirt and brown trousers, and carrying a food delivery bag, was seen prying open two donation boxes in the foyer and taking the money meant for the mosque’s development and utilities.

The theft was discovered by the mosque’s secretary at 9.30pm and a police report was lodged.
