The Machang MP said he has also been barred from the public gallery.
Wan Fayhsal said the decision to prohibit him from sitting in a session was “unacceptable”, stating that there were incidents in the past where an MP who was suspended was allowed to attend the sessions without taking part in the proceedings.
He said DAP’s Lim Kit Siang was allowed to sit in the lower house during his 2018 suspension.
“Am I such a threat to Parliament? Will my presence pressure the government?” he asked in a press conference at the Parliament lobby.
“Why is this happening? A government led by someone who is labelled a chief reformist is not only denying my right to defend myself at the rights committee, but my right to observe the proceedings.”
Wan Fayhsal said it was important for him to take his place just like Lim, so he could peruse parliamentary answers and other documents pertaining to his constituency.
The Bersatu man claimed the ban went against the norms for suspended MPs.
In July, Wan Fayhsal was suspended from the Dewan Rakyat for referencing a poison-pen letter naming the alleged mastermind of the Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) privatisation deal.
