
PETALING JAYA: An 18-year-old passenger died after the car he was travelling in crashed into the divider of the Sungai Dua toll plaza in Penang this morning.
The Penang fire and rescue department said the car skidded while travelling south-bound towards the toll plaza and rammed into the divider, crumpling the front of the car.
The department was alerted to the incident at about 10am.
Members of the public managed to pull out the driver and another passenger from the vehicle. The pair, aged 18 and 22, suffered injuries.
The passenger who died was trapped in the back seat. Firemen managed to extract him from the car before medical officers confirmed his death at the scene.
