Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the suspects, aged 73 and 65, were arrested at 11.15pm, just hours after a report was received at 4.54pm.
The complainant said she had received a call from her 42-year-old son at around noon on Friday, informing her that he had been struck by a vehicle which left him injured and unable to move.
“The victim’s mother immediately rushed to the scene and took him to the hospital for treatment,” Sinar Harian quoted Naazron as saying in a statement.
Naazron said investigations found that a public dashcam recording had captured the incident, showing a black vehicle hitting the victim as he stepped down from his lorry, and dragging him onto the road divider.
“The driver then fled the scene,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Sections 307 and 279 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and reckless driving.
