Missing man found dead in Ipoh hotel

The 62-year-old was found lying on a hotel bed with no visible injuries to his body.

A 62-year-old man who was reported missing after going for physiotherapy treatment on Tuesday was found dead in a room at a hotel here today.

Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said they were alerted to the discovery of R Thinakaran’s body at 4.20pm.

“Medical officers from Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here who were at the scene confirmed the death,” he said.

“The deceased was found lying on a bed with no visible injuries to his body. There were also no signs of criminal activity or foul play.”

The body will be sent for an autopsy tomorrow to determine the cause of death.

Abang Zainal said the case has been classified as sudden death.

He said police received information on Tuesday afternoon that Thinakaran left his home in Taman Pulai Heights in a car but failed to return.
