Form 4 student in Seremban charged with raping junior

PETALING JAYA:
A Form 4 student was charged in the Seremban magistrates’ court today with raping a 14-year-old schoolmate in a classroom in May.

The 16-year-old boy pleaded not guilty before magistrate Saiful Sayoti. Proceedings were held behind closed doors as the accused was a minor.

He was accused of raping the female student at around 7.20am in a classroom at a secondary school in Ampangan, Seremban, on May 2, Berita Harian reported.

The charge was framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code which carries imprisonment of up to 20 years and a whipping, upon conviction.

The court allowed the accused bail of RM4,000 and fixed Nov 5 for mention.
