Kosmo reported that the 48-year-old entered his plea after the charges were read to him by an interpreter before judge Norhamizah Shaiffuddin.
The man was accused of raping the girl at a house in Kampung Alor Bakong, Langkap, Hilir Perak from June 21 to Sept 25.
He was charged under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code which provides for eight to 30 years’ imprisonment and up to 10 strokes of the rotan, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Anisah Pisol offered no bail in view of the relationship between the accused and the victim, but suggested RM5,000 per charge with one surety should the court decide to exercise its discretion.
She also requested that the surety not be the complainant in the case, and the additional conditions that the accused refrain from disturbing the victim or prosecution witnesses until the disposal of the case, and report once a month to the nearest police station.
The accused, represented by lawyer Aliff Aiman Rusli, asked for a lower bail amount, saying he was an unemployed father of two, supported by his daughter.
The court allowed bail of RM50,000 with one surety and the additional conditions requested by the prosecution, and set Dec 4 for the case to be mentioned again.
