PETALING JAYA:
The government has proposed limiting tax exemptions in Langkawi and Labuan to vehicles valued at not more than RM300,000 under the 2026 budget.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the measure would take effect on Jan 1, 2026.

“The government has found that some luxury vehicle owners have long taken advantage of the tax exemption for vehicles in Langkawi and Labuan,” he said when tabling the budget in the Dewan Rakyat today.
