Body of man caught in Saloma Link flood found in Shah Alam

It was reported that a construction site manager had been washed away by floodwaters under the bridge on Monday evening.

The body of a man who was trapped in a flash flood near Saloma Link on Sungai Klang on Monday was found at 10.30am today in Sungai Kandis, Shah Alam.

Dang Wangi police chief Sazalee Adam said the body was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem, Sinar Harian reported.

Sazalee said he will provide more details at a press conference later.

The fire and rescue department said a team from Shah Alam went to the scene after receiving a call, and extricated the body from a rubbish trap in the river, before handing it over to the police.

“Police have confirmed the victim as the man who was reportedly washed away during a flood at the Saloma Link in Kampung Baru,” said the department.

It was reported that K Suresh, 37, a construction site manager, was washed away by floodwaters after being caught under the Saloma Link at about 5.40pm on Monday.

Firefighters managed to rescue 11 other construction workers in the incident.
