2 women nabbed after baby dies at hospital’s daycare centre

The four-month-old was sent to the daycare centre last night as his mother, a nurse, was working the night shift.

PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested two women to assist in an investigation into the death of a four-month-old boy at a daycare centre at Seberang Jaya Hospital in Penang.

Penang police chief Azizee Ismail confirmed the arrest of the women, who are believed to be workers at the daycare centre,  MalaysiaGazette reported.

The case is being investigated for murder.

The duo will be brought to the magistrates’ court tomorrow for remand proceedings.

The baby was reported to have been sent to the daycare centre last night as his mother, a nurse, was working the night shift there.

It was rushed to the hospital’s emergency department at about 4am today.

The baby’s family members claim that there were elements of abuse, citing CCTV footage from the daycare centre.
