PETALING JAYA:
The Securities Commission of Malaysia has obtained an arrest warrant for Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd’s CEO and managing director Abdul Karim Abdullah.

In a wanted notice issued today, the SC said Karim was wanted for criminal prosecution under securities laws.

It listed his last known addresses, including a flat located in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

The SC listed his other address as a residential unit at The Lake Garden Villas in Shah Alam, Selangor.

“If you know his whereabouts, please contact us at 012-611 2496,” said the commission.

In May 2022, Serba Dinamik, Karim and three senior officials were acquitted of charges of submitting a false statement to Bursa Malaysia Bhd the previous year after they settled compounds amounting to RM16 million issued against them.

Serba Dinamik and the four executives had claimed trial on Dec 28, 2021, after they were charged under Section 369(a)(B) of the Capital Markets and Services Act.

The false statement charges were in relation to the revenue figure of RM6.014 billion contained in Serba Dinamik’s quarterly report on consolidated results for the quarter and year ended Dec 31, 2020.

Investigations against the troubled oil and gas company were launched in May 2021 after the SC received a report from audit firm KPMG.

In September 2023, Karim was publicly reprimanded and fined by Bursa for failing to provide proper notice of the disposal of his interest in Serba Dinamik.

Serba Dinamik was removed from Bursa’s official list in June 2024.
