The ICA said the first case involved a 29-year-old Malaysian riding a Malaysian-registered motorcycle who was stopped by officers at the Tuas Checkpoint on March 17.

“Enhanced checks found several black bundles believed to contain controlled drugs in the rear box of the motorcycle. Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers were immediately alerted to the detection and conducted further checks.

“A total of 25 bundles believed to contain controlled drugs were found. The bundles contained about 14kg of heroin, 2.6kg of crystal methamphetamine and 190g of ecstasy,” it said in a Facebook post.

The following day, a Singaporean, 29, was arrested at the Woodlands checkpoint after the Malaysian-registered vehicle he was a passenger in was ordered to undergo enhanced checks.

Officers found a bundle believed to contain drugs along his waistline near the groin area.

“CNB officers were immediately alerted to the detection and conducted further checks which uncovered various drug paraphernalia in his possession. A bundle of approximately 81g of cannabis was seized,” the ICA said.
