Ipoh sessions court judge Jean Sharmila Jesudason imposed the sentences on Airul Abu Talib, 28, and Asri Hussin, 25, after the charges were read out separately, reported Utusan Malaysia.
According to the charge sheet, Airul raped a 13-year-old teenager at a house in Kampung Sungai Timah in the Perak Tengah district in June 2024.
Asri was also charged with committing a similar offence against the same victim at a separate location in Perak Tengah at about 7pm on March 21.
Both men were charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum 20-year jail term and whipping upon conviction.
Airul and Asri, who worked as an excavator driver and a construction worker respectively, admitted their wrongdoing and said they had repented.
The duo, who were unrepresented, also pleaded for leniency and asked that their prison sentences run from the date of their arrest.
However, deputy public prosecutor Nor Arfahanim Azureen Arfanuddin urged the court to impose a sentence that would act as a deterrent to the accused and the public.
