
Sukry Tasu, 37, claimed trial after the charges were read to him before magistrate Aiman Azahan, Bernama reported.
On the first charge, Sukry is accused of causing grievous hurt to Amirul Raziq Rosafindi, 24, at the armoury store of Company C, 25th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment camp, at 8.30am on March 30.
He was charged under Section 325 of the Penal Code with voluntarily causing grievous hurt, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years’ imprisonment and a fine upon conviction.
Sukry is also accused of injuring six others – Atiqillah Taugek Rashidi, 21; Syakirin Yaacob, 20; Azman Shah Ismail, 22; Nik Amir Zaqwan Nik Asrizal, 19; Irfan Aiman Tajudin, 19; and Danial Asraf Azizan, 22 – at the same location at around 8.30pm on the same day.
The six charges were framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a maximum penalty of one year’s imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
The magistrate set bail at RM7,000 for the first charge and RM2,000 for each of the subsequent charges.
Aiman also ordered Sukry not to approach or contact the victims until the conclusion of the case.
He fixed May 18 for document submission.
Deputy public prosecutor Zamharir Zuhid conducted the prosecution while Sukry was represented by counsel Hafiz Baharudin.
