PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a total of 43 suspects in connection with rioting and vandalism at an entertainment outlet in Cheras on Monday, including the main suspect behind the incident.
Utusan Malaysia reported that the latest arrests involved 35 suspects, with the cops applying to remand them further.
The main suspect is believed to be a Chinese national who hired the group of thugs.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus is set to give a press conference on the case at 3pm.
Fadil previously said investigations were being conducted under Sections 427 and 148 of the Penal Code for mischief and rioting while armed with weapons.
The group of men used a lorry to barge through the entertainment outlet’s gate, then broke into the premises and destroyed several items.
