Veteran journalist Joshua Purushotman dies at 66

Gombak police informed his family yesterday that he died of a heart attack.

Veteran journalist Joshua Purushotman has died at the age of 66 after suffering a heart attack.

His niece Ghitha Rayan confirmed the news, adding that the family was informed of his death by Gombak police yesterday.

A former associate editor at The Sun, Purushotman was found dead in his car in Batu Caves by members of the public on Tuesday.

A post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack, believed to have occurred the same day, according to Ghitha.

Purushotman began his career at The Sun in 1995 and later worked at The Heat and the Phnom Penh Post. He later headed a public relations company and worked with the National Kidney Foundation.

Funeral services will be held at the Fook Yee Memorial Centre here on April 11 at 9am.
