Pakistani detainee facing sexual, robbery charges at large

PETALING JAYA:
Police have launched a manhunt for a Pakistani remand detainee who escaped from Sungai Buloh prison yesterday.

Sungai Buloh police chief Hafiz Muhammad Nor said Muhammad Hassan, 24, faces multiple charges, including of robbery, sexual offences involving a minor, and immigration-related offences.

The suspect was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt and long black trousers.

Hafiz said police are actively tracking the suspect’s movements and have stepped up operations in the surrounding areas.

“Police advise the public to remain vigilant, as the suspect has a history involving sexual offences against children,” he said in a statement today.
