PETALING JAYA:
A teenage boy suspected of supplying a drug-laced “mushroom-flavoured” vape to his 14-year-old girlfriend was arrested yesterday and remanded for five days to assist in an investigation.

The girl was rushed to the hospital on Sunday night after slashing her wrists and throat as her stepmother did not allow her to meet her boyfriend.

She was allegedly under the influence of a “mushroom-flavoured” vape obtained from her boyfriend.

Melaka police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar today said the boy, a Form 4 student, tested negative for drugs after a urine screening, reported Bernama.

An investigation is ongoing to determine where he obtained the “mushroom-flavoured” vape.

The case is being investigated for child neglect under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and rape under Section 376 of the Penal Code.

Investigations found that the teen started vaping after getting to know her boyfriend in February.

Dzulkhairi said the stepmother had confiscated a vape before, but the girl’s boyfriend allegedly supplied her with more.
