According to Sinar Harian, magistrate Mazana Sinin granted the remand order until Sunday.
Police recorded statements from the 36-year-old bus driver and the 21-year-old woman, his girlfriend, yesterday.
Jasin police chief Lee Robert said that the woman, who works as a ticket counter clerk at another bus company, told investigators she had known the man for about five months.
He said both of them were questioned for about two hours and detained yesterday.
They are being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The video, believed to have been recorded by a passenger, showed the woman sitting on the driver’s lap and holding the steering wheel while the vehicle was on a highway.
The incident occurred on April 12 at about 7.30pm near the southbound entrance of the Bemban R&R area.
The bus driver was subsequently sacked.
