PETALING JAYA: Police are on the hunt for four men who were involved in an armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, earlier today.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the incident was reported at around 11am.
He said the suspects entered the business premises armed with two pistols before fleeing the scene with 21 trays of gold weighing an estimated 15kg, valued at about RM9.7 million.
“Also stolen was a shotgun and a round of ammunition belonging to the security guard at the shop,” he said in a statement.
Fadil said the case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and Section 397 for armed robbery.
