Cops hunt for 4 men after armed robbery at Brickfields jewellery shop

The suspects fled with 15kg of gold worth about RM9.7 million, and a shotgun taken from a security guard.

Police are on the hunt for four men who were involved in an armed robbery at a jewellery shop in Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, earlier today.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus said the incident was reported at around 11am.

He said the suspects entered the business premises armed with two pistols before fleeing the scene with 21 trays of gold weighing an estimated 15kg, valued at about RM9.7 million.

“Also stolen was a shotgun and a round of ammunition belonging to the security guard at the shop,” he said in a statement.

Fadil said the case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and Section 397 for armed robbery.

He urged those with information to contact the Brickfields police hotline at 03-2297 9222, the KL police hotline at 03-2115 9999, or the nearest police station.
