
Nurul Farhana Ramlee, 32, entered the plea after the charge was read out before magistrate Syafiq Sulaiman.
She is accused of acting negligently in a manner likely to endanger the life of a boy who was confined in a room at Al Kauthar Eduqids kindergarten in Section 3 here at 4.32pm on Oct 6, 2025.
The charge was framed under Section 336 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to three months, a fine of up to RM500, or both, upon conviction.
In the same court, Farhana and the owner of the childcare centre, Nor Fadilah Alias, 35, claimed trial to a joint charge of operating the Section 3 centre without a valid certificate of registration from the director-general of the social welfare department.
The offence was allegedly committed on Jan 21.
They were charged under Section 6 of the Child Care Centre Act 1984, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a fine of up to RM10,000, imprisonment of up to two years, or both, upon conviction.
The women also pleaded not guilty to charges of operating an unregistered branch of the childcare centre in Kota Kemuning.
The offence, framed under Section 6(1) of the Child Care Centre Act 1984, was allegedly committed on Jan 19.
Syafiq allowed bail of RM3,000 with one surety each for every charge and fixed May 25 for mention.
Lawyer Anwar Ezzad Zainal represented the accused, while deputy public prosecutor Muaz Khawarizmi Azfar appeared for the prosecution.
