KUALA LUMPUR:
Police have seized 22 pork carcasses, weighing 1,058kg, after a raid on a frozen food distribution outlet in Skudai, Johor, for allegedly storing pork carcasses without valid slaughter approval.

The meat was believed to have not been slaughtered at an approved abattoir, said Zaki Ashar of the internal security and public order department.

He said seven people were detained, including six Nepalese men and a woman who owns the premises.

The Nepalese nationals were detained for an immigration offence while the owner of the premises was detained for employing foreign workers.
