SHAH ALAM:
Police have detained a man for investigations into alleged defiance of a command by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, on the conduct of Friday prayers and the call to prayer at a surau in Ampang.

Selangor police chief Shazeli Kahar said a 46-year-old man was arrested in Pandan Indah, Ampang, at about 3pm today, and a laptop, mobile phone and several documents were seized for further investigation.

He said the police would not compromise on any action by any party that incites provocation or undermines harmony in the state.

Police had earlier placed a man’s name on a watchlist to prevent him from leaving the country after he was suspected of involvement in an Ampang azan petition.
