SHAH ALAM:
A group of foreigners attempting to flee a police inspection met with an accident when the car they were travelling in skidded in Section 18 here yesterday morning.

Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said police officers started pursuing the sedan at Dataran Otomobil, Section 15, heading towards the Section 15 roundabout, at 9.49am.

The brief chase began after the driver refused to stop the vehicle despite being instructed by police officers. He sped off, driving recklessly and endangering other road users.

“The vehicle then skidded and crashed into a lamp post in a residential area in Section 18. All four suspects, comprising three men and a woman aged between 14 and 41, were apprehended.

“None of the suspects possessed valid travel documents, and initial urine screenings found that two of them were positive for drugs,” he said in a statement, adding that no illegal items were found in the vehicle.
