PETALING JAYA:
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will spend RM90 million in development charge funds to address traffic congestion through three high-impact infrastructure projects.

Federal territories minister Hannah Yeoh said the “Projek Trafik Lancar” initiative will be carried out at critical locations in the Segambut, Seputeh and Wangsa Maju constituencies, identified based on traffic flow analysis and projected vehicle growth.

In Segambut, the project involves building a road and tunnel from Jalan Kiara 7 to the SPRINT Highway (Penchala Link), while in Seputeh, it includes upgrading the exit ramp from the New Pantai Expressway to the KL-Seremban Highway.

Hannah said the Wangsa Maju project involves upgrading the intersection of Jalan 7/24 and the Middle Ring Road 2 in Wangsa Melawati.

“These projects focus on resolving major bottlenecks that affect the daily movement of city residents,” she said in a Facebook post today.

Hannah said DBKL’s use of fees collected from developers and landowners shows its commitment to ensuring developments directly contribute to community well-being, particularly in terms of road networks, drainage, public facilities and traffic dispersal.

“DBKL is committed to ensuring that infrastructure develops in tandem with urban growth to meet the needs of the people,” she said.
