
PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian man armed with two knives was arrested last night after running amok near some shophouses at Damansara Perdana here.
Petaling Jaya police chief Shamsudin Mamat said they were notified about the incident at around 7pm, and that policemen dispatched to the scene found the suspect near the staircase of one of the shophouses.
“The policemen approached the suspect and ordered him to hand over the weapons. He was then arrested without any untoward incident occurring,” he said, according to Berita Harian.
An investigation paper has been opened against the suspect for carrying an offensive weapon in a public place for unlawful purposes. He will be remanded until May 7.
