Year 2 pupil dies after being hit by van at school entrance

The incident was reportedly witnessed by several parents who were there to pick up their children from SK Seri Maimon near Parit Sulong, Johor.

PETALING JAYA:
A Year 2 pupil died this afternoon after a van crashed into her at the entrance of SK Seri Maimon near Parit Sulong, Johor.

Nur Aini Umairah Fareez, eight, was reportedly hit by the van as she was leaving the school at around 12.40pm, Berita Harian reported.

Medical officers confirmed her death at the scene.

The van was reportedly leaving the school compound after delivering some goods and was exiting the gate when it crashed into the girl. The incident was witnessed by several parents who were there to pick up their children.

The girl’s body has been sent to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for an autopsy, while Batu Pahat police chief Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani confirmed that an investigation had been launched.
