Man killed after guardrail pierces car in highway crash

The victim’s wife, two daughters and a niece sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.

PETALING JAYA:
A man was killed after the car he was driving skidded and was pierced by a guardrail in an accident at Km 295.5 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) southbound, near Gopeng, this afternoon.

Perak fire and rescue department (JBPM) assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim was pinned inside the vehicle, and rescue personnel used hydraulic equipment to extricate him.

The 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by health ministry personnel, reported Bernama.

Sabarodzi said the victim’s wife, two daughters and a niece sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The body was handed over to the police for further action.
