
PETALING JAYA: A 70-year-old woman was found dead with slash wounds to her neck at a house in Taman Desa Aman, Ipoh, last night.
Ipoh police chief Najib Hamzah said the victim was discovered with multiple injuries, including cuts to her neck, body, and head, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp weapon.
He said a 52-year-old man was arrested at the crime scene to assist in the investigation.
“A parang, believed to have been used in the incident, was also found at the scene.
“The motive is still under investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said in a statement.
The victim’s body was sent to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for a post-mortem.
