They, and two others, are seeking an order for the state’s Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) to release a copy of the minutes of a meeting on April 17 which led to Mubarak’s removal as Sungei Ujong undang.
The suit names the DKU secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, the DKU and Negeri Sembilan government as defendants, Sinar Harian reported.
Aside from Mubarak, the other plaintiffs are Jelebu undang Maarof Mat Rashad, Johol undang Muhammad Abdullah, Rembau undang Abdul Rahim Yasin, Tunku Besar Tampin Tunku Syed Razman Syed Idrus Al Qadri, and Sungei Ujong Syahbandar Baharudin Abdul Khalid.
They want the High Court to order Raja Norazli and the DKU to hand over the meeting minutes within seven days of a court order.
They also want the court to bar the enforcement of any decision made in the DKU meeting held on April 17 until the minutes are handed over to them.
The application is set to be heard before the court on May 13.
The crisis in Negeri Sembilan was sparked on April 19 by Mubarak and the three undangs claiming that Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir had been removed as Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
The state government rejected the declaration, saying Mubarak himself had been removed from his post earlier.
The political crisis escalated after all 14 Umno state assemblymen withdrew support for menteri besar Aminuddin Harun on April 27, citing his handling of the royal dispute.
Earlier today, Majlis Dato Lembaga Adat Sungai Ujong announced that Faris Johari, 27, had been appointed the new Sungai Ujong undang, becoming the 11th holder of the customary chieftain’s post.
His appointment has, however, been disputed by the Sungei Ujong council of customary chieftains.
