
In a post on X, he urged the people not to be easily deceived by false narratives and to always verify the facts through credible sources.
“Throughout my tenure as home minister, I have explained these facts, complete with supporting data, several times in Parliament as well as during media briefings.
“Every application is strictly subject to the Federal Constitution, the law, and stringent security vetting,” he said.
He added that the process of approving citizenship applications is not carried out to serve the political agenda of any party.
In his post, the minister shared a poster with his image and a caption stating: “I approved citizenship for Chinese immigrants. That is my right – the people have no authority to question it. I hold the power, not the people.”
The poster included the DAP and PKR flags as well as the Pakatan Harapan banner.
Saifuddin said the allegation that he freely granted citizenship to Chinese nationals was malicious slander deliberately played up to inflame public sentiment and mislead the people.
He has repeatedly denied allegations on social media that he approves citizenship applications of immigrants from China, most recently in March 2025.
