ETS, KTM Komuter services up north hampered by cable theft

Services are facing delays of up to 107 minutes after the cable theft between Sungai Siput and Kamunting in Perak.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd’s (KTMB) ETS and KTM Komuter services up north are facing delays of up to 107 minutes due to cable theft.

In a statement, KTMB said the cable theft occurred at KM95.8 on the tracks between Sungai Siput and Kamunting in Perak, causing signalling issues for both train services.

“These routes are expected to experience more than 60 minutes in delays from the original schedule.

“Updates on services will be provided periodically. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” it said.

It added that the 2901 KTM Komuter coach was delayed by 107 minutes, while other coaches saw delays of between four and 84 minutes.

For the ETS, trains were delayed between 50 and 85 minutes.
