Boy found on riverbed 2 days after being swept away by currents

The body was found about 300m from where he reportedly fell into the river.

PETALING JAYA:
A 10-year-old boy has been found dead at the riverbed of Sungai Selisek in Hulu Selangor two days after he fell into the river and was swept away by currents near Kampung Sungai Nilam.

The Selangor fire and rescue department said the body was found at 4.36pm by a team of divers at a depth of about 6m and about 300m from where the boy reportedly fell into the river.

“The body has been handed over to the police for further action,” it said in a statement.

The victim has been identified as Aakif Imran Asrul Nizam.
