PETALING JAYA:
The Kuching High Court today discharged and acquitted three men accused of murdering a 47-year-old man in Balai Ringin, Serian, four years ago.

Judicial Commissioner Zaleha Yusuf Pan ruled that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against the trio at the close of its case, Borneo Post reported.

Jackson Grunsin, 42, Jupiter Jawa Chapan, 29, and Fredrick Bunyau Intai, 28, were charged with murdering the man at Kampung Batu Kudi between 3.40pm and 4.30pm on May 19, 2022.

The victim’s wife said she was putting their child to sleep when she heard her husband scream about 50m from their house. She later found him unconscious, believed to have been assaulted.

The victim was initially taken to Balai Ringin clinic for treatment before being transferred to Sarawak Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
